Here in Finland LDPE is not available (at least I have not found it
and I have made a good search) with a thickness of more than .2 mm 
but I did find Polypropene at reasonable prices and sizes..

PP is used as a printing material and for making folders so a local
printing company might be of use.. 

The plates are up to 120cm*80cm with thickness up to 2mm and of very
good qualite - both smooth and "ridged" slightly available - the 
"ridged" variety might actually be better as oil can go along the 
surface that is not exactly smooth.. Quite ideal for stacked caps..
