RE: More scopes

Steve,

The mix of transistors and tubes (hybrid) is a good one for the scope as an
instrument, but weakens the front end a bit compared to the older 500 series
scopes which were all tubes. This scope is still more survivable than a
modern instrument in a Tesla lab. Just use good sense in its application.
A scope for Tesla coil use need not have even a 5MHZ bandwidth! So some
really old scopes are just fine. Those 100+ MHZ Bandwidth scopes will mean
nothing except extra cash outlay. I would use your 556 wisely for all but
the most powerful Tesla system work.
