         One idea. You can factor spark gap loss into an equation 
giving a max. theoretical output. It is safe to assume primary Q is 
about 10 when a spark gap is involved. There is a time domain equation 
I'll find and send offlist if you like that shows the number of 
cycles it takes for pri-sec energy transfer to run to completion for 
different values of k. Knowing Qp allows you to calculate exactly how 
much energy actually gets to the secondary C (self and terminal) and 
hence Vout (assuming the terminal can hold off a discharge until the
transfer is complete). Even taking this into account, the theoretical
maximum will only be reached on the first shot or two before a 
discharge seriously starts.
