Re: Bypass Caps

Hi all,
After seeing Richard's posts and Ed and Scott's analysis not
to mention Bert's pearls of wisdom, I am completely converted to
using filtering past the transformer. So I am grateful to all who
have offered me help with the caps.

Yes please. All help received with this is gratefully accepted. To
all, please email me direct to avoid loading the list down. In return,
I hope to have some ideas for system improvement to mail in the not
too distant future based on some theoretical work I am doing.
While I am thinking about it, I have a couple of unrelated
queries. Has anyone fired at sea or considered doing so? You not only
have a first class ground available, but also plenty of scope for
power transmission experiments. I saw a picture recently in the
amateur radio mag. "CQ" showing Bill Wysock firing on board a ship.
The photography left a few things to be desired, but I was left
wondering whether he was at sea for these reasons.
Secondly, what is the highest altitude anyone has fired a coil.
I seem to remember once hearing that around half the world's
atmosphere is below 5000' or so. What are the discharges like at
these elevations compared with sea level?
