Oscillator circuit for solid-state TC

Hi everyone,

For those who have built (or are building) a solid-state TC circuit, I was
hoping you might tell me how you built your oscillator to drive the
circuit. I ask because I've seen some simple oscillators built around the
555 IC, but I wasn't sure just how versatile they were in general, and what
kind of bandwidth you might get out of the 555 if it were a variable
frequency oscillator. In contrast to the 555, Duane Bylund in his book has
a circuit built around the "SG3524" IC which has a maximum operating
frequency of 150 khz. Anyone else used this chip and built an oscillator
with it?

Thanks,
