Brittle coil coatings..

Greetings,

Just to clarify...

It is very important to realize that the coating on my coil that cracked
was about 3 to 4 times thicker than you are likely to have on your coil.
I put a thick layer on as a first coat. This layer sagged and looked like
sh**, so rather than sand the first one down, I added another layer to
even it up. The layer is over 1/8" thick now. The garage got down to
about 0 to 10 degrees F.

I have a 4" coil coated with a quite adequate single coat of the exact
same stuff (from the same cans even) that has been in my garage for about
two years. My garage gets plenty hot in the summer and plenty cool in the
winter and the 4" coil has been OK all this time.
