Why do many coilers  report that a larger toroid increases 
the striking distance of their  coils,  given that increasing
Coutput always decreases the output voltage? 
(I am assuming that the striking range is increased by more
than just  the  increase in toroid radius.)

of a fixed power level. I have observed that the smaller toroid
issue a great number of shorter sparks at any given instant. 
While larger toroid issue fewer but longer sparks.
(By larger i mean the minor radius. 2" vs 3.5") 

I suspect that the theoretical maximin voltage cannot be reached with
with smaller toroids. Many smaller(lossy) sparks dissipate energy as
well as a few longer ones.

May be that some of the math wizards on the list can show that 
"c output" is not proportionately significant when compared to 
breakout voltage change. Though there must be some point of diminishing 
returns on toroid size. For me it is power.
