Greetings all,
Sorry to start off my moderation duties with this kind of stuff.
As most of you already know I started this tesla coil mailing list back in
1994 and moderated it from then to about 6 months ago, and have always
maintained it as well. In 1996, I brought the list into my house by
purchasing a computer and getting an ISP. The list started out with about
5 to 10 people then, and has grown to about 380 people.
Now that I've given my introduction, the real reason for this is that
I am writing to ask for voluntary contributions to help support the list
and the needs of the machine that I use to run it. I would like to
purchase additional tapes and perhaps a disk drive or two so that I can
provide more reliable service and be able to come back quickly in the
event of a problem. I will also apply additional money towards paying for
the ISP.
As I stated, this is entirely voluntary, but (laying on a little guilt
trip :-) ) consider the amount that you have benefitted from this list.
For many, this list has been the gateway to tesla coil knowledge and has
allowed them to construct and perfect thier coils.
I will also be happy to take donations. I could use the following
equipment:
a SCSI (II or III) pci card (Buslogic or Adaptec 2940 preferred)
90 or 120 meter 4mm DAT dapes
IDE or SCSI disks
A flatbed scanner :-)
Extra IDE controller card(s)
