	Probably no mystery at all.  The leads act as resonant lines,
exactly as in some of Hertz's pioneering work with electomagnetic
waves, almost exactly 110 years ago.  
	A lot of his work was done at a wavelength of about 6 meters
(frequency about 50 MHz) by coincidence.
