Hi Jim, all,
                 No quantitative measurements sorry. I will say that 
a really good coil won't light fluorescents at any appreciable 
distance let alone ten feet. I've never managed that even in a small 
one. I run at 1.5kW out in the backroom. The coil throws sparks 4ft+
There is a fluorescent directly abve the coil in the ceiling. It 
hardly glows. Small coils seem to be the worst offenders.
