Hi Cabbott,

You donīt happen to some extra cash for us poorer coilers out there? Just
 kidding.

I havenīt done any maggy work (yet). But here are my two cents to it:

Forget the cardboard!!!!. The wall thickness is way to large and carboard is
lossy. Next problem if your secondary ever has internal arcing you can trash a
cardboarded one right away. Small coils (under 800 Watts input) can get away
with cardboard, but not yours!! You wouldnīt build a very successful coil with
it. If money is no object, try using plexiglas or lexan tubing. Your next bet
would be PP (itīs just as good, wonīt shatter like plexi and its cheaper !!)
PP doesnīt really absorb moisture, but to remove surface moisture throw it in
an oven and bake at a mod. temp (50-60°C i.e 120-140°F) for 30 min and then
coat it with a good anticorona paint. The only prob with PP is the paint will
stick to it but it doesnīt "connect" with the PP. Itīs insoluable in just
about anything. This means you canīt "bang it around" like a coated PVC coil.
The paint might split off, soyou have to be careful here.
Your wire should work okay. Although I canīt see any real advantage in using
square wire on a Tesla. Iīm not so sure about the mylar insulation, tho. Mylar
isnīt any good in a TC cap, so Iīm not sure here. Letīs see what other coilers
 think.
Have a look at Bert Poolīs site. He has a good info text on magnifiers. Also
read RQīs texts on the list. Several of his sugestions should work on your
 maggy, too.

Now my question to you: Do you have your maggy literature handy (read:
sendable via email). If so it would interest ME and probably some other
 coilers out there, too.
Keep us posted.

coiler greets from germany,
