	I did the same many years ago, using surplus 2 volt, 20
ah cells and RK-72 rectifiers.  One night late I had a spark to
ground which ignited the hydrogen gas in one of the cells and blew
acid all over the garage (and my folks' car).  The setup
did work fine.
