Griffith Observatory's Homepage URL is:
http://www.griffithobs-dot-org/
The actual coil is located in Griffith's Hall of Science.

A somewhat overadvertisted photo of the coil can be found at:
http://www.griffithobs-dot-org/tour.htm
The following text was included with the image:

"Return to the Pendulum in the Main Rotunda, and continue on to the Tesla
Coil. The coil is demonstrated at regular intervals by the Guides. Ask at
the Information Booth for the time of the next demonstration.

The Observatory's Tesla Coil was built in the 1920s, reportedly for
vaudeville, and donated to the Observatory in 1937."

Unfortunatly, very little technical info is given on the site. Try
E-mailing someone there.
