To those on the subject of the cloth coil:
    Has anyone purposely tried making a coil that is narrowed in the center?
This might make for an interesting coil as the magnetic field would be changed
a bit.  Just to see what might happen with this,  I have been looking for a
coilform that would be a smooth transition from a solenoid to a flat coil such
as this:

Any comments on how this might work?
