Hi Alfred,

The changing parts of the above waveform would pass through the
transformer, but the flat DC portions wouldn't.  Essentially only the
ripple voltage would pass, and the DC component would probably act like a
short or saturate the transformer.  The wave coming out the other side
would be a mess.
