Large Variac Help

Bart, my 240 V 4 A Variac measures 3.6 Ohms, so 0.6 Ohms for a
30 A Variac seems a little HIGH. I think that an "ideal" variac
would measure 0 Ohms at d.c.  Ideally only the inductance 'drops'
voltage, it is after all a variable transformer.
