Alan, all:

If it can be of some inspiration, the gap that I have made for my soon
to fire coil, is very similar to the one you describe, as well as
Terry`s and Chuck`s.
It has fully adjustable electrodes, so that the gaplength per gap can be
adjusted at will, and the electrodes can be removed for cleaning etc.

I wouldn`t have talked about it before trying it out, but after reading
this thread, i`m sure it will, and I think it has some nice features
worth considering.
