Re: Tesla Coil Operation - was "Harmonics"

For the purpose of driving a secondary or set of secondaries at harmonic
frequencies one could consider a pulse forming network(PFN). A PFN is built
basically like this. More Ls and Cs can be added as desired.

------L------------L-------- output
   | | |
   C C C
   | | |
----------------------------
             |
           -----
            ---
             -

A PFN can be used to deliver an approximately square pulse into a resistive
load. There would obviously be some mismatch effects into the primary of a
Tesla coil. With a minimum number of Ls and Cs, the values could be chosen
to favor the desired harmonics.

Has anyone experimented with this?
