Hi All,
a farady cage has basically the same effect as putting a metal box
around the coil (as long as the holes in the cage are small enough)
An easy way to build a faraday cage if you have a building which you always
use the coil in is to stapple chicken wire to the walls of the building. You
could also try making a simple wooden frame and putting chicken wire over it
if you want to be able to stand outside the cage or it needs to be portable.
I use a meter rule held in mid air by nylon thread to measure spark length.
