When you mentioned cost effectiveness, I just couldn't pass up the oppur-
tunity to share the deal that I got on a commercial pulse/ MMC cap that I
got from Anthony DeAngelis in '97. Let me explain. Although it is a com-
mercial pulse capacitor, it consist of (12) identical 0.0275 uFD, 42 KV pulse
caps all built into one nice 3"x5"x25" long, 11 lb unit. And of course, each
has an external connection. There are 12 individual terminals on the top side
and 6 individual terminals on the bottom side, each shared by two of the in-
ternal capacitors. This allows for many different external bussing configura-
tions, and I am currently using it as 2 strings of 6 for a total value of 
0.0825
uFD -at- 84 KV.

This is a High Energy custom made cap manufactured 4-23-84 with a part#
CS414/N 545-04 and I have less than $100 in it (shipping included). I use it 
my large "Medusa" 10 KVA pig powered coil system and it only starts to get
a little warm after several minutes of full-power firing (~11 to 12 KVA) and 
I 
get consistant white-hot 8 to 10 ft sparks -at- ~7 to 8 KVA. 

Just out of curiousity, I emailed High Energy corp a few months ago with the
part# and asked them how much it would be for another one. Well, I know
how Sundog felt when he was quoted over $2500 a piece for those PTs as
I was quoted over $1500 for this particular capacitor. Oh well, I guess this 
is
the only one of that particular type of cap that I'll ever be getting my 
grubby 
little mitts on!
