I think the capacitor is only 1.5KV - 1500V.  That would only be about
67.5J.  I accidentally bid on a cap on Ebay for the same reason - it said
Sangamo 15v 25.000mfd - I saw 'sangamo' and I thought it said 15Kv.  It was
actually 15v and 25,000 uf.  Oh well... Just thought I'd let you know - it
might still be a nice PFC, or phase adjuster for SRSG(w/ variac).

I'd charge with a NST and a halfwave rectifier through a big resistor....
Who cares if it takes a minute to get to full charge..
