Very Small TC's

To all those using obits and building small coils

My first ever TC was wound on a 2" by 12" round acryllic former and used 22
swg magnet wire and one obit and an ltr mmc with a simple adjustable linear
RQ style gap
with fan for cooling. As i remeber the longest streamer was about 8". The
problem was that the OBIT's i used only lasted a few minutes which was
depressing - no sooner had i got ot tuned than it would die. Ia abandoned
OBITS in favour of a 9-60 NST which is still goi strong. Motto : don't try
using OBIT's unless you are desparate or experienced enought to design an
effective prtection system - or regard them as disposible.

Jus' my opinion tho'

Alex
