Re: safety gaps



Hi Herwig,

The safety gaps fire with sort of a machine gun rate (really loud).  Once
the voltage drops back to the proper level the gaps will stop firing easily
by themselves.  So they work quite well as is.

I "think" the high energy explosive nature of the arc when the gaps are
shorting the primary circuit helps to blow them out, unlike when they are
just running the 60mA from the neon.
