RSG's And HD motors

Hi,

Thanks to those that have replied (so far). Just for information the
drive motor that I was looking at came from an old Seagate 15MB drive, the
thing takes up two 5 1/4 bays! I have 2 such motors, plus about 5 intact
(and functional I think) drives of that type.
I don't think I am ready for a RSG yet, though it would be fun to
build, my coil is only 690 Watts, running off of 3 OBITs. I am currently on
a quest to find an NST and capacitors CHEAP (as I currently am out of work
:-( ). The coil itself is wound on a 4 inch diameter PVC form, 21inches
long. I also need to rewind the primary, since my spacing is totally random
(the ties came loose). I immagine that this copper tubing will not wind
well a second time, but its gotta be better than what I have. For
refference, with the above specs, my coil is currently producing 12-14 inch
sparks on a good day.
