But of course..  DC only refers to the source of power for the primary tank
circuit (gap, L and C).  The magnifier is yet another configuration with 3
coils and 3 capacitors.  In fact, I would argue that a tall skinny secondary
with a cylindrical primary (not pancake) at the bottom is pretty close to a
magnifier, since the magnetic coupling from the primary to the secondary is
all concentrated at the bottom.
