Nope, that isn´t true. First of all, the size gauge works
backwards, which means AWG 22 is THICKER than AWG
23. Using your reasoning, it would be the other way around.
It is simpily an assigned number and as the number goes up,
your wire diameter, circ. mils, etc go down.
