Test Aborted (aaargh)

Well folks, look like my comparison test will be put off by about 24h as
I was carrying the bucket with my two (bare) NSTs immersed in mineral
oil on a plank on the top of my wheelbarrow, and guess what, I hit a
stone with the wheel.... The whole lot hit the paving (much to my
mother's chagrin - oil stains on new York Stone aren't pretty) and much
to my chagrin as the HV tags were ripped off the secondaries of both of
my NSTs. (They were paralleled with little short wires as the NSTs were
facing each other about 1/2" apart. UGH.

Happily, the windings appear otherwise undamaged apart from a few splits
in the mica coil-core insulation where it doesn't really matter - and
all the Mylar tape I had to remove to get to the bare ends of the
secondaries....... however, since these things are all oily, I can't
think how to effect a repair if the tape won't stick to itself - and I
can't imagine where to get mylar or Kapton tape in the UK.- maybe
Farnell stock this but I can't find the catalogs underneath all my boxed
stuff (soon to be moving I hope!) Any hints from UK coilers? Or those
who wound their own trannies? Also, I'm fed up of the smell (very
persistent) and stains of spilt Xfrmr oil every time I move these things
around.... anyone know where to get Vaseline in huge industrial
quantities (ie a gallon or two / a few litres)?
