Hello, all

I'm out of my lurking hole for the time being..

I am interested in some more in-depth experiments with my tesla coil. What 
ways are available to measure the strength, shape and other properties of 
the magnetic fields created by the coil?

And also, does the coil's frequency fluxuate, or not, and if so, is there a 
way to keep it constant?

Lastly, I have a cute old 486 i don't mind blowing up as much as my hurky 
gateway, and I am interested in possibly using its computing powers to 
compute something that has to do with my coil.  I would be able to get a ton 
of extra credit in school for doing something like that. But I really am 
wanting to do that myself anyway.
