Hi Dave,

If you don't like soldering, you could try a clamping-screw fittings to
connect water tubing of the right diameter.

Another methode could be a piece of iron rod with screw-thread all over it
(tap-bolt?). Copper is a soft metal, so tapping should be easy.

But remember: if it not get's hot, solder the lot!
