Henry,
Do not put the pringles can in the microwave the aluminum foil on the inside
of the pringles can could mean a fire!!

I  used  pringles can to make a small coil,but you have to peel off the foil
on the inside and outside,this is a real pain...took me more than a hour!and
the cardboard is fairly thin so the tube(and coil)deformed under the
pressure of winding and when all was said and done the
coil performed very poorly(almost no output at 230W although this could have
been to the overall design but
 think thecardboard tube was the main problem)

look around for some scrap PVC pipe,a construction site or local plumber may
have some 3-4" laying aroud they could give you
