RE: Filters & Chokes



I don't recommend using aluminum-clad power resistors for NST filters.  The
resistors have to stand off tens of KV spikes.  The aluminum case will cause
it to arc end-to-end through the case, rendering the filter ineffective, if
not crispy.

Don't forget the lesson learned from MMC's!  If you can't get a single big
one, string however many 1/2W resistors you need to achieve your required
power dissipation.

		values from 0.1 to 1000 ohms
		You can parallel or series thes to produce the values you
need.
