Re: Beginner

Welcome Michael!

I started to build Tesla Coils 2 years ago, and am still alive. I too
had little experience with high voltage, just some tube amps at 500V,
which I thought was awesome, at the time. I was absolutely terrified,
when I first turned my homemade 20kV minipig on with a variac, and
corona started to sizzle alover the place. I guess it is a normal
reaction.

I beleive that the most important habit in dealing with high voltage is
to simply, and consistently, pull the plug out of the wall, before you
approach the coil for adjustments. Remember that, and I`m sure you will
be OK!

Cheers, Finn Hammer
