Welcome to this great Tesla list.  A Tesla coil can be built
simple or complex.  Usually the capacitors are the hardest
thing to find, but even salt water bottle caps will work in a
pinch, but will not be as efficient or neat.  Many types of
high voltage transformers can be used including but not
limited to; neon sign transformers, radar transformers, oil
burner ignition transformers, power distribution transformers,
potential or instrument transformers, microwave oven 
transformers, X-ray transformers, etc.  For a first coil, the
form can even be made of cardboard, with a simple static
gap.  The primary must have enough turns so the primary
tank circuit can be tuned to the same frequency as the
