Hi Alan,

I believe most of your concerns about using microwave caps
for an MMC are well founded. Another problem that will probably
be encountered is that these caps usually have "mylar" or poly-
ester dielectric, which is quite lossy and will quickly heat up and
may very well cause catastophic failure of the cap (explosion).
Polypropylene or polystyrene are better dielectrics for high charge/
discharge duty cycles seen in Tesla service and Digikey's Panasonic
polypropylene dielectric caps are a much better choice for MMCs.
Hosfelt's .1 uF, 3000 volt and .33 uF, 2000 volt snubber caps are also
great choices for this, but I believe us coilers may have already ex-
hausted the supply on them :-(
