Hi Pete,
uh uh. I have some heavy, solid brass door knobs made maybe 1915.
I know it's around 1915 because I know where the knobs were 
liberated from.  :-))

The knobs face a 1-1/2 copper coupling. I think it makes an excellent SG.
The knobs are slightly curved. The copper needs frequent cleaning but the 
brass knobs stay clean for an hour or more.
