Re: pigs in LA

Well, I drove over to C and H's warehouse today, but no luck with the pole
pigs yet. The guy running the place said he hadn't gotten any in a couple of
years, but man did they have a lot of stuff there. I don't know how they
possible keep track of it all, but they must somehow. I did something that
some of you coilers out there might be interested in. They actually had a
couple of what appeared to be HUGE spun aluminum toroids. I couldn't get a
close look at them because they were up on a really tall rack, but they
looked to be at least four or five feet across. They had one that was single,
and a pair that were attached to each other by some short aluminum pipes. I
also saw a number of other interesting high voltage items there. There was
one item that appeared to a high voltage DC supply. I don't know what it was
for exactly, but it was about 4 feet high, with small toroids along its
entire height. Running through the toroids were a series of PC boards with
diodes capacitors and resistors. It could have been some sort of large
voltage multiplier. There was a similar looking object next to it, minus the
PC boards, with a large radiation sticker on it. It was a very cool
experience overall. I've never seen so much surplus electrical stuff in one
spot.
