Not very critical. But it depends on frequency really - for 300kHz
two  820nF caps should be ok, and for lower freq the caps should be
even larger. And, the upper and lower caps capacitances should be the
same.

Hmm just thought of some major improvement to the schematic you
actually should do: leave out the single electrolytic. Get two 100uF
160VDC or similar capacitance electrolytics (or, buy/find a second one
of the sort you already have). Place one in parallel with the upper
pulse cap, and the other in parallel with the lower pulse cap
(observing correct polarity of course). 

This should further improve things, quite much actually!
