Tim,

THey can be hooked together only in parallel, not in series.  Make sure
they're in phase.  If not in phase there's no output.  reverse connections
of *one* nst to fix the phase if it's wrong.

THey're deadly too.  all this tesla stuff is deadly if one is not careful.

The rule of spark lengths:

   double the power gives 41% more spark length.  So 2 NST's give
  41% more spark length.  (theoretically).   there's a million reasons
why the sparks length may not double if everything's not right.
