i also traveled to colorado springs earlier last year and found the same lack 
of interest in tesla that you described.  after checking with the local 
chamber and the library, i found that some of his "artifacts" were stored 
away safely since the tesla museum had closed its doors due to lack of 
funding.  no other info was available.
