I've heard a lot of refrences to mineral spirits, mineral oil, and high 
voltage oil. What I'm really looking for is something to submerge my cap in. 
I heard that some plain ol' motor oil works good, and also that regular 
vegtable oil works as well. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Dennis, 
Mineral oil is available as a solvent for insecticides from many farm supply 
outlets (local Feed & Weed , etc.) in gallon jugs and sometimes 5-gallon 
ones. It is pricier ($9 to $10/gal. in 1-gal jugs) than the regular HV oil, 
but it is a source if you can't find an HV oil source.
