While not ALL power tetrodes are suitable for power oscillators, all
ARE suitable for the power amplifier use for which they were attended.
A master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) configuration using a lower
power tube for the oscillator should work just fine, and allow
independent adjustment of frequency, power primary tuning, and
coupling. Should be much simpler than trying to couple a power
oscillator to a resonant and nonlinear load! I intend to try it (albeit
on a much smaller scale) when I get around to cleaning up my workshop so
I have room to play. (That's been a project for a couple of years, so
don't expect immediate progress.)
