Centre tap on an NST

Hi all
Right, for axample a 10/50 NST with a centre tap has one at 5KX and the
other at 5KV, with the ground connected to the case. The case is then
connected to mains ground (not RF ground) and all is hunky dory.
Hypothetically you disconect it from the ground. Does 1) The whole thing
stay as it was, in which case what is the point of a centre tap, 2) one
terminal become 10KV and the other 0KV, while the centre tap and therefore
the case float at 5KV or 3) something else...
Ive never used NSTs before, only MOTs so help is appreciated...
