Garry,

I would NOT recommend using hot glue.  Unless you get it really hot and
actually melt it to the plastic, it will probably not seal well.  I am
pretty sure that tupperware and some rubbermaid is HDPE, which is difficult
to glue.  I have had the best luck with shoe-goo, but silicone will work OK
also.

P.S. If anyone knows what shoe-goo is, please tell me.  I don't think its
silicone, and it has sort of an organic solvent smell.
