cartridge fuse as spark gap?

Hi All,
Whilst browsing the web trying to find some info on ceramics a
thought occurred to me, It happens occasionally, I think it is called
lateral thinking, or just thinking...I digress.. Could one use a big
cartridge fuse as the basis for a triggered spark gap? It has some of
the right properties. It is a high temp ceramic,.It has terminals on
both ends, Can be got for nothing in junk yards. If you drilled thu one
end inserted a length of brass or copper with a tungten electrode on the
end. ect, details to follow when I get hold of a fuse. any major flaws
in this plan?

cheers
