Ray,

It's the ideal cap for this type of project. You don't have to be as
conservative as with other caps, but don't go too much above 4kv though
just to be safe. I have built a few small coils and you really don't need
anything above 5kv to get great spark output. With all that current you
will have available from the MOT, you have the right stuff for a great coil.

I have obtained a .01uF 8KV mica transmitting cap that is rated for 26 Amps
at 400KHz. Would make a good cap for a smaller MOT power coil?
