Transformer in series with a cap?

Original poster: "Kamil Kompa by way of Terry Fritz <twftesla-at-qwest-dot-net>" <tcmail-at-poczta.fm>

Hi!

I have been testing my transformer (12kV 3000VA) It is not current limited,
so i ballast it with a resistors (heating machine).
I have connected 200uF capacitor in series with primary, resistor, and
power line, and I have noticed that output voltage
on secondary is much higher. I tried twice wider gap, than for normal
working, no more, because i was afraid about transformer.
I understand why voltage is higher on primary (and also secondary) in
serial connection with a cap., but I want to ask if this effect can be used
for
loading tank cap for TC. How big can be the tank cap in such circuit?
