Luckily 833's are one of the few tubes out there where you can get by with
holding heavy wire directly to the tube pins with small stainless steel hose
clamps like those you might use to install a in-line fuel filter in your
gasoline powered blender.  833A's can be run on their sides only with all
terminals in the vertical plane otherwise filament sag is a problem.  They can
also be run upside down.  This allows coilers in New Zealand and Oz to run
them!
 
This info from RCA transmitting tube manual TT-5, so it is probably true.
