I have a very similar coil intended for solid state tests. It's about 15 cm
tall and 2.5 cm wide, with a light bulb wrapped in aluminium foil as the
funky looking topload.

I have since moved on to better things with my solid state experiments, and
I think that little coil would look damn cool as a portable demo - thanks
for the inspiration (even though I can see it on my shelf every day, I
didn't think of it =)

I'm interested in those figures.. I'll try something similar to start with,
but my coil is shorter so I don't want to blow it to pieces =)
