I'm not exactly sure what they are... 

VA=Volts*Amps, so, 9000*1=9000 VA = 9kVA 

I'd say it's kinda like a pig. Piggies have volt ratings of any where from 4kV
to 20kV, and VA ratings anywhere from 5kVA up to 167kVA (that's highest I've
seen). About the only difference I see is that these are dry, while pigs are
submersed in oil. Except for those huge PTs...
