Patrick,

I just glue or screw a wooden endcap into the end of the secondary.
Often the cap does not even fill the end completely.  You can look
straight through the form after the cap is in place.  Then i drill a
1/4" hole in the center of the endcap, and place a long threaded
screw through the cap from the inside, and i place a nut on the outside
to hold the screw in place.  then i use a nut below and above the toroid
to hold it at the proper height.  sometimes i place a decorative
insulator over the bolt before bolting on the toroid as a cosmetic
flare.  i twirl the secondary wire around the outside of the form
and catch it beneath the nut that holds the screw in place in the
endcap.  Very basic in other words.   PVC end caps work fine too.
